FromSoftware Is Currently Working on Multiple Projects Along With Armored Core VI and Elden Ring DLC

When we mention the studio FromSoftware, one automatically connects it with the legacy of some of the greatest games of all time. The latest addition being Elden Ring, which came from the studio after a hiatus of three years. One would expect it to be it for a while, given the tide of success the game is currently running on, with its first DLC coming along too, but Armored Core VI was revealed at The Game Awards 2022. And now we hear that there’s more in development and under wraps at FromSoftware. Here’s all you need to know.

FromSoftware producer talks about multiple projects in development and more

In a recent interview, producers Yasunori Ogura and Yasuhiro Kitao shared some details from behind the scenes of the upcoming Armored VI: Fires of Rubicon. Additionally, when asked if FromSoftware is “expanding and working on more games at once,” Kitao replied in the affirmative. He said:

“This is a philosophy of ours that really hasn’t changed all that much in the past ten years, particularly since Miyazaki has been president of the company. This is an area we feel we’ve always strived to achieve: always making something new, always making something original, something that we find interesting and fun as players. So in this sense, really nothing much has changed. We do develop multiple titles simultaneously, we do have several teams working on different projects.”

Kitao thus confirmed that multiple titles are indeed in development at the studio at present, with different teams working simultaneously on these projects. We already know of the Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree and Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, slated for release this very year.

However, he further added, that they now hope to “stagger” their releases and “bring something new and exciting at hopefully not so long intervals going forward.” He was probably hinting at the three-year gap between the launch of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring. With that, we can expect FromSoftware to release its upcoming titles more frequently.
