Fujifilm launches a new 8K video recording camera, X-H2 | Digit

The Japanese Multinational conglomerate Fujifilm is expanding its mirrorless digital camera lineup by launching a new camera in its X-series. The company announced the X-H2 mirrorless camera, which will feature a new back-illuminated 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor. In addition, the camera also comes with X-Processor 5, offering better image and video quality and enhanced overall performance. Another significant feature is that the camera supports up to 8K or 30P video recording with Apple ProRes support.

Fujifilm X-H2 supports ISO 125 standards and offers a 1/80000 sec shutter speed via electronic shutter. Further, the camera features Pixel Shift Multi-Shot, which provides better output. The new device also has an interface like the subject-detection AF based on Deep Learning technology which automatically detects a broader range of subjects like animals and birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, and trains, and human faces and eyes, five-axis and up to seven stops of in-body image stabilization that assists users while shooting videos, a 0.8x magnification, and 5.76 million dots EVF as well as a card slot compatible with CFexpress cards.

The X-H2 supports Apple ProRes codecs, ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422, and ProRes 422 LT. Apart from that, the camera also supports proxy recording, such as ProRes 422 Proxy. Moreover, X-H2 has a digital zoom function that works with the camera’s 40.2MP sensor. It delivers up to 2x of digital zoom with minimum resolution loss during 4K video recording, even with a prime lens attached to the camera. Users can achieve twice the limit and seamlessly transition to the digital zoom function using the XF18-120mmF4 LM PZ WR when the lens reaches its maximum focal length. In addition to F-Log, X-H2 also supports F-Log2, which records an expanded dynamic range of 13+ stops. This range is more comprehensive than the current F-Log, broadening post-production potential.

The Fujifilm X-H2 camera will cost ₹1,99,999 (body only). It is also available with an X-H2-XF 16-80mm F4 OIS WR kit lens which will be available for ₹2,44,999. The camera and the kit lens set are available now for purchase.
