Fury backtracks on Joshua fight and accepts Charr offer

Only a few hours after declaring that he was open to fighting Anthony Joshua on December 3, Tyson Fury has once again stated that the fight is off. The Gypsy King is now claiming he will fight unranked heavyweight veteran Mahmoud Charr on the same date despite his promoter Frank Warren’s insistence that they are still negotiating the all-British showdown.

In a video posted to social media, Fury said: “Manuel [Mahmoud] Charr, so it seems AJ is finally out, he’s ducked his way out, the s*** bag, coward and you’re the man who wants to fight so I like that. I like the fact that you’re very vocal and the fact that you’re calling for a fight like a real man should do.

“Any man that wants to fight another man should call him out as you have been doing to me. So, I accept your challenge Manuel Charr, let’s get it on motherf*****.”

This latest video continues the ongoing and extremely puzzling Fury vs Joshua saga. On Monday, The Gypsy King declared that the fight was off after AJ failed to sign the final contract by his self-imposed Monday deadline.

In Charr’s most recent Instagram story directed at Fury following the news that he was back on board with the Joshua fight, he said: “Fury, you are the same s*** like Anthony Joshua. A man is a man, when you say Joshua is out, he is out. You’ve told everyone that you want to fight me, now you’re like duck. Take the fight.”

According to Eddie Hearn, he and Warren’s son George are currently agreeing on the terms for a final AJ fight contract with the last marked-up draft being sent by Queensbury on Tuesday. It is understood that both promotional outfits are fully behind the deal and are doing everything they can to get it over the line.
