Futurama Revival Gets a Fun New Trailer

Futurama Revival Gets a Fun New Trailer

It’s back! Futurama just got its first new trailer as the upcoming season heads to Hulu.

It’s about time, too. No, really… it’s about time. Essentially undoing the previous finale with some timey-wimey shenanigans, the new trailer reveals the intrepid crew of the Planet Express ship survived a “massive disruption in the flow of time”. It’s a good thing, too, as the new season looks as though it’s back on form.

Fry, Leela, Bender, and the gang return with their original voice actors with a bundle of classic Futurama jokes, including Zap Brannigan’s take on Manscaping. Poor Kif.

However, some of the jokes feel a little dated. The new season takes a swipe at COVID, crypto, and creepy AI voice assistants… and it all feels a bit 2021. Retro-futuristic? Perhaps. Thankfully, the best bits are classic Futurama with Bender disintegrating someone immediately after the end of a battle and then declaring “Okay, I’m done”.

It’s slapstick japes and over-the-top comedy that makes Futurama so great, and this new trailer has them both by the bucketload. Throw in a ridiculous premise here and there, and the return of some fan favorites, and it looks as though Futurama’s upcoming revival is off to a good start.

Futurama Season 11 debuts on Hulu on July 24, 2023.

IGN’s Futurama Season 9 finale review gave it 9/10 and said: “After a long-lived encore on Comedy Central, Futurama debuted its second series finale with equal parts humor and wonder. While the show’s final season has had a few bumps, ‘Meanwhile’ delivered a sweet, funny, and satisfying end for its two main characters, while opening the door to even more possibilities.”
