Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Blue Beetle Possible Trilogy, More; Here Are All the Updates From DC Reboot
There have been several developments unfolding about the future of the DC universe ever since the release of The Flash. Ezra Miller’s future as the Scarlet Speedster hangs in the balance but there is some hope for his role in future projects, as per reports. Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman role has also received a positive update from the actor. Blue Beetle, the first confirmed superhero of the new universe, might stick around even longer as movie director hopes for a trilogy. Here are all the latest updates from the DC universe being built by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Blue Beetle
Blue Beetle director Angel Manuel Soto said during an interview with Total Film (via Games Radar) that the character is going to be a part of the new universe. He also added that the origin movie was made with the mentality of making two more movies after that, thus completing the traditional trilogy arc.
“Our first movie, the way we wanted to do it, was always with the mentality that we wanted to do two more, at least. And taking the traditional three-act structure of a story, we wanted our first movie to practically be the first act of a saga,” he said.
Blue Beetle star Xolo Maridueña also told Empire Magazine that the team is ready for not just a trilogy but for nine movies if it comes to that. He also added how it depends on the numbers (financial success of the first movie). “If we get one movie or a trilogy and f**king fold this into the Justice League sh*t, we’re ready for the whole nine. For me and Angel [Manuel Soto, director] and the team, we kicked ass with this movie. It just depends on numbers.”
Ezra Miller’s Flash
The Flash opened up at the box office with disappointing numbers, as per a new The Hollywood Reporter article. That article also highlighted how Gunn and Safran were previously “open” to star Ezra Miller in future DC movies as the Flash. The report adds how the duo might seek to add Miller as a supporting character in other projects.
Mantis actor Pom Klementieff
Pom Klementieff, who portrays Mantis in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, has just revealed that she keeps talking about the new DC universe with James Gunn. She told Comicbook.com, “Yeah, we keep talking.” Whether or not this translates into a role for Klementieff in the DC movies remains to be seen.
Gal Gadot
When it comes to DCEU, the fate of Ezra Miller and Gal Gadot has been unclear so far. However, there’s a far more positive update regarding the future of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. The actor gave a cryptic yet positive update to Entertainment Tonight at Netflix’s Tudum: A Global Fan Event. She said, “Things are being worked behind the scenes, and once the right moment arrives, you’ll know about it.”
