Gautam Gambhir’s bizarre reaction to Naveen ul-Haq’s expensive over

One of the profound memories of the IPL 2023 season will be the fiery exchange between star batter Virat Kohli and veteran Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir. It all started with an encounter between Virat Kohli and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bowler Naveen-ul-Haq and later the cricket fans saw two legendary cricketers engaging in a heated exchange on the field. Gautam Gambhir claimed that the team of LSG is his family and he does not like somebody misbehaving with his family.

But, on Tuesday Gautam Gambhir was himself not happy with the performance of bowler Naveen-ul-Haq, who bowled an expensive over in a thrilling match against the Mumbai Indians. Naveen-ul Haq was bowling the 18th over in the high-stakes match and MI needed 30 runs in 12 balls.

Tim David, who is known for his explosive batting smashed a six on the second ball of the over. The batsman missed the third ball, but so did the wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock and it went for a boundary. Naveen-ul Haq managed well for the next two balls, but on the last ball, Tim David again delivered a beautiful six.

Gautam Gambhir was clearly not happy with the bowling and the cricket fans on social media noticed and even posted pictures of his reaction on Twitter.

Now it all came down to Mohsin Khan, who was bowling the final over the Mumbai Indians and needed 11 runs. Despite having two explosive batsmen on the crease- Tim David and Cameron Green, the MI couldn’t breach the fortress of Lucknow and LSG took the game home by 5 runs.

“I was not thinking that I have to defend 11 runs or 10 runs, my aim was to just bowl six good balls, and thankfully, it worked. I had the confidence in my ability, irrespective of who I was bowling to, and the ball was also reversing a bit, Mohsin Khan said in a post-match interaction.
