Genshin Impact v2.6 Character Leaks Reveal New 5* Hydro User Yelan

The beta test for Genshin Impact v2.6 is currently underway and has started to be datamined, giving the player base information and lots of leaks are surfacing online recently. As we can see from previous coverages, alleged character leaks for Genshin Impact’s next update are out in full force. One leak revolves around Yelan, a rumored new character, which suggests she’ll likely be playable in v2.6 or v2.7.

While not much has been revealed, HoYoverse has lead players to believe that we shall see Kamisato Ayato headlining v2.6, alongside the unveiling of a new region: The Chasm. Character leaks are always exciting since fans can get early glimpses of which characters may be available soon. The leaks are usually pretty accurate, but they’re always subject to change closer to their rumored releases.

Yelan appears to be a 5* Hydro Bow character. She will be the second character of this kind to be released. The first and only character to wield a Hydro Vision and Bow, Tartaglia, was released on Nov. 11, 2020, so a new five-star Hydro Bow user is a welcome surprise.

Some screenshots have been leaked featuring Yelan with a bow that is also new and likely designed for her Kit specifically. New 5* characters usually have a themed weapon that releases on the “Epitome Invocation” banner alongside their character banners. It’s expected to be the same for the new weapon.

Leakers have also suggested Yelan won’t be playable until Genshin Impact 2.7, leading us to believe that Ayato will be the only new character launched for the v2.6 update. However, data for Yelan is allegedly present in the v2.6 beta, this could indicate toward her appearing in the game in some capacity – even if it’s only as an NPC encounter for now. Perhaps Yelan will make an appearance alongside the storyline of The Chasm.

Fans have drawn visual comparisons between Yelan and 4* Liyue character, Xingqiu, claiming there are a lot of similarities. Perhaps they are related and we could have more sweet interactions between the two, similar to what players saw during the Lantern Rite between Liyue characters Chongyun and Shenhe.
