Genshin Impact Yae Miko DPS Build Guide: Best Weapons, Artifacts, Team Compositions for The Character

Okay now that v2.5 has been released and today marks the start of Yae Miko’s first banner, here is a guide to how to maximize her potential and build her to be a DPS Catalyst. This would include suggestions for Team Compositions, Artifacts, Weapons, whether you should pull extra for Constellations or her Signature 5* Catalyst Weapon.

But first, if you are an F2P player, read this first before committing your primogems to this banner.

Now that you know who and what you’re committing to, here are things to do for Yae Miko if you’re struggling to build her:

Artifacts

This could be both the simplest part of building Yae, but also the hardest. Good Crit Rate and DMG and sub-Attack stats could make all the difference. At C0 Yae needs lots of Elemental Recharge; at least 150% if she has a battery like Raiden or Fischl, and 200% if you don’t have either. It may even be worth foregoing set bonuses to ensure she has enough ER. However at C1 or above, you’re free to focus on buffing her attack.

A four-piece Emblem of Severed Fate set increases her elemental burst damage by 25% of her ER, so if you’ve got lots of ER on her from her weapon this is a great choice. An Emblem of Severed Fate two-piece paired with the Thundering Fury two-piece give Yae an extra 20% ER and 15% electro damage bonus, respectively. At C3 or above and running her with an Electro carry team, the Thundersoother four-piece set is a powerful choice, increasing damage against enemies affected by Electro by 35%.

If all these options are giving you a headache, our advice is to go for a two-piece Gladiator’s Finale and a two-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence for a refreshingly easy– but extremely useful – attack bonus.

Team Compositions

As mentioned earlier, Yae Miko has a dire need of a battery to ensure she can use her powerful skill and burst as often as possible. Naturally, the best partner for her is Raiden Shogun, especially as she benefits from Yae’s expensive burst, but if you don’t have her, Fischl is your F2P friendly best bet.

A ‘Taser’ comp with Kokomi, Xinqiu, or Mona for Hydro, and then Kazuha or Sucrose is a comfortable option, or the meta favorite, dubbed the ‘Raikou’ comp, with Kazuha and Bennett. We also recommend swapping either Bennett or Kazuha out for Sara – if you have her, try placing her in this team. You could also swap Kazuha for Sucrose or Venti.

Weapons

The weapons you can use for Yae completely depend on the team and the sort of Artifacts you have equipped for her, but the baseline Kagura’s Verity is an ideal weapon for her. It adds an extra 20% Damage as compared to an R5 Solar Pearl, which is the next best weapon for her, assuming you activate its passive before casting Burst. The Widsith is another weapon that complements Yae except for a noticeable damage drop. The Hakushiin Ring and Oathsworn Eye are solid F2P options, with great passives.

Skyward Atlas, Blackcliff Agate and Memory of Dust are also good secondary options since they build Crit Damage main stats.

Constellations or Signature 5* Catalyst Weapon?

Because there is a huge potential pool of weapons that will work for Yae, we would recommend investing in Constellations to boost Yae’s performance and passives. A C2 Yae Miko will increase the number of Sesshou Sakura fox totems from 3 to 4.

A C1 or more Yae would somewhat reduce your stress to grind for the right artifacts and need for building other characters to enable and be a battery for her elemental recharging. Largely due to her skills and burst being so costly, the right artifacts make a lot of difference. Obviously none of this comes cheap, so either you spend your hard earned Fates to get Constellations or you can grind and make do with a C0 Yae.
