Gianfranco Zola forces BT Sport to apologise after swearing on air at West Ham vs Chelsea
Chelsea icon Gianfranco Zola forced BT Sport into an apology after swearing live on air ahead of the Blues’ clash with West Ham. Thomas Tuchel’s side are aiming to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League but face a difficult challenge against the Hammers.
Zola, who also spent time managing West Ham, was being shown clips of some of his best Premier League goals.
Fellow pundit Rio Ferdinand spent the entire video tape praising the Italian for his skill.
However, Zola was then asked how his natural ability compared to his work rate.
He responded: “Forgive me, that is bull****.”
Presenter Jake Humphrey immediately raised his hand up as if to apologise to viewers. Ferdinand and ex-Chelsea winger Joe Cole could be seen in stitches.
“That is a very strong word for this time in the morning,” he said. “Apologies to our viewers for that use of word.”
