The “Greek Freak” became a Greek god on Tuesday night.
Giannis Antetokounmpo absolutely erupted in the Bucks’ 105-98 win over the Suns on Tuesday night, clinching Milwaukee’s first championship in half a century.
There’s no hyperbole here: Antetokounmpo had one of the greatest NBA Finals performances in league history. He put up 50 points and was an unstoppable freight train all night, absolutely terrorizing the Suns on the inside — and, somewhat surprisingly, at the foul line.

Antetokounmpo finally found his stroke at the charity stripe, going 17 of 19, proving to be a true difference-maker on the court in the clinching game.
Giannis’ 50-point performances is up there with some of the all-time great Finals performances: There had only been six 50-point efforts in NBA Finals history, with Giannis’ game marking the seventh. Elgin Baylor (61 points, Lakers, 1962), Michael Jordan (55 points, Bulls, 1993), Rick Barry (55 points, Warriors, 1967), Jerry West (55 points, Lakers, 1969), LeBron James (51 points, Cavaliers, 2018) and Bob Pettit (50 points, Hawks, 1958) are the others.
It has been 50 years since the Bucks were NBA champs — coincidentally, it took those 50 points from Giannis to make it happen. For his efforts, Giannis was deservedly voted the Finals MVP, with a unanimous 11-0 tally.
The NBA world was buzzing after Giannis’ legendary showing.

Move over, Zeus. Take a seat, Poseidon. Make some space in the pantheon for Giannis.
