Gleason and Simon Tabbed MSC Baseball Players of the Week

Bowling Green, Ky. – Shawnee State’s (Ohio) Jacob Gleason and Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Josh Simon have been named MSC Baseball Players of the Week, announced conference officials Monday.

MSC Baseball Player of the Week

Josh Simon – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Jr. – UTL / RPI – Santa Cruz, Aruba

  • Simon led the Patriots at the plate throughout a 3-1 stretch including three wins against Thomas More.
  • The junior slugger went 9-14 for a .643 average, busting three home runs.
  • He scored five runs and totaled 10 RBIs on the week.
  • His best performance was a 4-5 outing against the Saints where he hit two home runs and totaled six RBIs.
  • This is his first career MSC weekly nod.

MSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Jacob Gleason – Shawnee State (Ohio) – Jr. – RHP – Ontario, Ohio

  • Gleason led the Bears to a 12-0 victory over Wilberforce (Ohio).
  • The right-hander tossed seven complete shut-out innings.
  • He gave up just a single hit in the opening frame, throwing six hitless innings to close out the win.
  • This is his first career MSC weekly honor.
