Mobile gaming was the boom India needed in order to have a broader gaming industry in the country. The likes of PUBG Mobile and BGMI were integral in building this vast majority of gamers and gaming fans in India. It also brought about a proper Esports scene in the country as well. Unfortunately, both these titles are now banned, forcing players to look for other options.
Even though mobile gaming lost two marquee title, there is still a great fan following that is backing the likes of New State Mobile, Free Fire Max and more. However, a popular personality from the Esports scene in India remains about unsure about mobile gaming’s future.
The personality in question is Global Esports CEO Rushindra Sinha, who recently posted a tweet asking players and fans whether it was “worth hanging onto” a BGMI or New State Esports roster after seeing the state of mobile gaming in the country over the past few years. He concluded stating that he personally does not think it is worth it.

A user replied to this tweet by accusing Sinha for not wanting mobile games to grow in India, despite of its huge fanbase. The user added that Valorant is currently the popular title in the country, which is why Sinha seems to be backing it rather than mobile games.
Sinha responded by stating that his tweet does not hint towards Global Esports quitting the mobile Esports scene, and that his team will be more than happy to join in if BGMI returns. However, he noted that games like PUBG and BGMI have been banned for more time than they have been available.

PUBG has been banned for almost 3 years after being there for only 2 years. BGMI has been banned for the last 8 months after being there for less than a year.
