God Of War Ragnarok Hits 11 Million Copies Sold

God of War Ragnarok has reached a new sales milestone. Developer Santa Monica Studio announced that the PS5 and PS4 action game has passed 11 million copies sold. This number presumably includes sales across PS4 and PS5, as well as copies sold in hardware bundles.

“None of this would be possible without the support of our fans, so thank you for coming on this journey with us!” the studio said.

Ragnarok sold 5 million copies in its first week back in 2022 to become the fastest-selling first-party PlayStation game of all time–and it’s still holding that record. 11 million copies sold is a big number, but without context like how much the game cost to produce and market, it’s difficult to understand how much of a success the game was commercially.

Despite Ragnarok’s strong sales so far, Santa Monica Studio has no plans to support the game with post-launch DLC. The game did, however, introduce a Photo Mode in December.

Rangarok still has a long to way to go to catch up to 2018’s God of War, which has sold more than 23 million copies. That game also benefitted from a launch on PC. As of yet, Ragnarok has not yet been announced for PC. If it does come to PC, it probably won’t be for another year.
