God of War: Ragnarok’s 3.0 patch lets Kratos and Atreus make silly faces with a new Photo Mode | Digit

God of War: Ragnarok is a certified success with both critics and gamers praising the game for its scope, exploration, combat and deep story. While fans have been clamouring for a New Game Plus mode, the folks over at Sony Santa Monica have dropped a new Photo Mode with the gigantic 3.0 update. The developers did promise that the feature would be coming after launch, we’re glad that it’s finally here. There are a bunch of new tweaks that have all been outlined in the official PlayStation blog. For example, users will be able to control focal length, camera placement, camera roll and much more.

The feature will also give players the ability to control the facial expressions of characters like Kratos, Atreus, Freya, Brok, Sindri, Tyr, Angrboda, Thor, and Thrúd. It’s a shame that we can’t mess around with Heimdall or Odin. Players will also be able to remove the main and side characters to get a clearer shot of the scenery and environment as well as apply vignettes, borders, and logos. If you’re the sort who likes to mess around with picture quality, options to change the Film Grain, Exposure and Filter Intensity, with finer controls for Vibrance and Saturation are also included in the new photo mode. If you think you have what it takes to smash that photo mode, you can send in your entries to @SonySantaMonica on Twitter or using the hashtag #GodofWarRagnarok.

In our review, we stated that the game was a true marvel of technology that pushed the PS4 to its limits without ever breaking it. The combat is great and keeps pushing you further, trying to find better armour combinations and move sets to give you that added edge against some of the more fearsome enemies. The music is incredible as well, giving Ragnarok a ton of atmosphere and setting it apart from most other Sony exclusives. So, if you’re looking for an immersive experience that tugs at your heartstrings, you really should play God of War: Ragnarok.
