Good Omens Season 2 Exclusive Clip Features Crowley and New Demon Shax

IGN can exclusively reveal a new clip from the upcoming second season of Good Omens. The clip features the demons Crowley (David Tennant) and Shax, a new character portrayed by Miranda Richardson, who played Madame Tracy in Season 1. You can watch the clip via the player above or the embed below.

Revealing that she’s now Hell’s representative in London, Shax meets Crowley on a park bench where – after an existential exchange about what’s the point of Heaven and Hell, angels and demons – she informs him that “something’s up” with Heaven.

The official plot synopsis sheds light on what, exactly, is up this season:

“Originally based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling novel, Good Omens 2 explores storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the ineffable friendship between Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), a fussy angel and rare-book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley (David Tennant).

Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, the duo is getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho. That is until the archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) turns up unexpectedly at the door of Aziraphale’s bookshop with no memory of who he is or how he got there. While Crowley is leery as to why the archangel has come to the bookshop, Aziraphale is keen to solve the mystery behind Gabriel’s condition.

However, hiding the archangel from both Heaven and Hell quickly disrupts their lives in unforeseen ways. To solve this mystery and thwart Heaven and Hell in the process, the duo will need more than a miracle; they’ll need to once again rely on each other.”

In addition to Sheen, Tennant, and Hamm, Doon Mackichan is back as the archangel Michael while Gloria Obianyo reprises the role of archangel Uriel.

Miranda Richardson isn’t the only Season 1 actor returning in a new role this season. Maggie Service plays Maggie, while Nina Sosanya is Nina. New cast members in Good Omens 2 include Liz Carr as angel Saraqael, Quelin Sepulveda as angel Muriel, and Shelley Conn as demon Beelzebub.

Neil Gaiman serves as executive producer and co-showrunner along with executive producer Douglas Mackinnon, who also returned to direct all six episodes.

Good Omens 2 premieres July 28th on Prime Video. To tide you over until then, read our Good Omens Season 1 review.
