Good Omens Season 2 Release Date Revealed With New Poster

The long-awaited second season of Good Omens on Prime Video is on the way, and we’ve now learned that it will be ready to stream on July 28.

Based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s popular 1990 novel, Good Omens stars David Tennant as Crowley and Michael Sheen as Aziraphale, and focused on the odd friendship between a devil and angel who live in London.

While the first season focused on the core novel and was marketed as a limited series, but Prime Video announced in 2021 that a second season would be coming. Gaiman is returning as an executive producer.

Along with the release date, we also got a look at the latest promo poster for the second season.

In Prime Video’s announcement, the company also said Season 2 “explores storylines that go beyond the original source, material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley.”

“Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery,” the announcement continued.

The second season will bring back many of the key characters from the show, including John Hamm as archangel Gabriel and Doon Mackichan as archangel Michael. Joining this cast this season are Liz Carr as the angel Saraqael, Quelin Sepulveda as the angel Muriel, and Shelley Conn as the demon Beelzebub.

The first season of the show first aired in 2019, and it was met with positive reviews. IGN’s 8/10 review read, in part, “Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens on Amazon is a charming miniseries with stellar performances from David Tennant and Michael Sheen. Backed by an excellent supporting cast and strong directing, Good Omens is indeed a great show that could have been amazing if its main storyline and some of its outlying characters had a few more episodes to stretch their wings.”
