Google announces new Unicode 15, animated and colour-changing emojis for Android and other Google products – Times of India
Emojis are everywhere. They have become an integral part of our day-to-day communication and Google has now expanded the emoji support on Android operating systems. The company has announced the addition of Unicode 15 emojis, animated emojis, colour customisations and more via an official Google Developers blog post.
Unicode 15 emojis are coming to Android later this year
For starters, the company has announced the addition of a new Unicode 15 emoji library which will be added to AOSP in the coming weeks and will be rolled out to Android in December. The list of new emojis includes ginger, donkey, moose, jellyfish, pea pod, leftward and rightward hand, shaking face, wing, new colours for heart, etc.
Animated emotes are coming to Android
Google is also bringing animated emojis to Android. The company, in the blog post, has announced the addition of the original dancer emoji via phone operator KDDI. The company will add around 200 animated emojis and some of them are already there in Google Messages.

Coloured Noto Emoji font
Apart from the new Unicode 15 and Dancing emotes, the company has also announced the coloured version of its Noto Emoji font. For those who don’t know, Noto Emoji is an open-source font that’s used by Chrome and other Google products. Up until now, the font only supported emojis in monochrome. However, the company has finally added support for colours to it.

Lastly, Google Chrome is also getting support for emojis with changing colours.
