NEW DELHI: Google is finally adding some useful shortcuts to Google Drive. The tech giant is updating the Drive on the web with user-friendly shortcuts which will enable them to manage their files easily. The company is now adding the ability to use the keyboard shortcuts cut, copy and paste in Google Drive.
Now users will no longer have to use the right-click menu in order to cut, copy or paste a file. Now the popular shortcuts Crtl+C, Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V will work on Google Drive. You can now use Ctrl+X to cut, and Ctrl+V to paste files. The addition of shortcuts will make it easier for users to move files and they no longer have to drag and drop files. This will also save time as you can now copy one or more files and move them to new locations in the Drive.
Additionally, a link to the file and its title will also be captured when copying a file, which allows you to easily paste them into a document or an email.
Along with this, you can also files or folders in a new tab using Ctrl+Enter, so that you can easily view multiple files at once, or use different tabs to more easily organize files between two different folder locations. The company has started rolling out the features and it will reach all the users by June 1, 2022.
Recently, Google announced that it will start warning users of suspicious invites and links that may be a cover for phishing and/or malware-based attacks. The company will warn the users by adding bright red warning banners to Chats.
“This invite is suspicious”. “This conversation contains links to known phishing sites that may try to steal your information” to which you can either respond by ‘Block’ or ‘Accept anyway’.”
Such warning signs in a big, red banner will appear with the invites “from users with personal Google Accounts.”
