Google has a new video feature coming with Pixel 8 – Times of India

Google Pixel phones have always clicked great photos and come in handy even after you are done clicking pictures. You can use the Magic Eraser to get rid of the photobombers. Then there is Photo Unblur which can turn your old blurry photos into something social media-worthy. What if we tell you that soon you could make your videos look sharper and clearer? Yes, Google is supposedly working on ‘Video Unblur,’ an unblurring tool for videos that may work similarly to Photo Unblur.
A unblur tool for videos may come with Pixel 8 series
According to 9to5Google, a ‘Video Unblur’ feature could soon come to Pixels. The feature might arrive with the Pixel 8, which is expected to be introduced later this year. Also, similar to how the Photo Unblur is exclusive to the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, the Video Unblur could be that one exclusive feature of the upcoming Pixel 8 series.
The team at 9to5Google forced the Video Unblur option to appear in Google Photos, with a slider to adjust the effect. But, the tool does not do anything as of now. The feature does not seem ready yet, but we can expect it to see in action on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. How will it work? We expect it to work similarly to the Photo Unblur, using AI to make videos sharper.
More filters for video are also in the works
Apart from the Video Unblur feature, Google Photos could also introduce a set of effects for videos, rather called “Overlays.” As of now, the feature remains unfunctional. However, we do get to know that there are a total of 14 effects to come, including options such as B&W, Chromatic, Super8, VHS, and more.
Currently, Google Photos lets users trim or crop the video, adjust the colours, and apply filters. There is also an option for advanced stabilisation. However, that could change soon with the arrival of the Pixel 8 series, when Google may announce these two new video features.
