Google Pixel 6 and 7 series users facing repeated app crashes: here’s how to fix it

Google launched the Pixel 6 series in 2021, and the Pixel 7 series in the following year. Neither of these phones were free of bugs, and Google received constant flak for instability in the software. Now, another issue is being reported by the customers of these phones.

App crashes on Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 7

Some users on the Google Pixel subreddit reported that almost all apps except a few have been crashing on their units. One of the users took the rather extreme step of erasing their smartphone to rid their device of the issue. A report from 9to5Google indicated that the issue could be with Google Play Services but that may not be the case after all.

How to fix app crashes on Google Pixel phones

Some of the customers have discovered that there is a much easier fix for this issue. If you are one of those who are facing frequent app crashes on your Google Pixel phone, all you need to do is follow these steps:

Open the Settings app on your phone and go to Apps > Carrier Services > Tap on Uninstall. You can also Uninstall the app from Play Store. Once uninstalled, simply reinstall it by searching for the same or through this link on Play Store.

The issue fortunately does not seem to be widespread as of now, but those who are facing it need to follow these steps immediately to avoid it. Google recently released their Google Pixel 7a smartphone in India at a starting price of Rs 43,999. The model faced issues with the refresh rate recently. Meanwhile, Google Pixel 8 series is expected to be unveiled later this year.
