Google Pixel 6 release: how to get the latest Android phone before anyone else

In a few days, Google will hold its next keynote announcement, where it will reveal the Google 6 and Google 6 Pro. The event will be streamed on Tuesday October 19 from 6pm UK time and reveal all of the missing details about these hotly-anticipated new flagship Android phones.

If you can’t wait for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro to hit shelves, you can do a bit of prep work for the big launch right now. A number of mobile networks are already inviting customers to sign up for alerts – so they will find out news about pre-orders and deals on the Pixel 6 range as soon as possible.

Right now, the mobile operators offering these alerts ahead of the Pixel 6 reveal are EE and Vodafone.

You can get your name on the list – and jump to the front of the queue – for these all-new Android smartphones by clicking the links below.

Speaking about the upcoming Android launch, EE said: “The new breed of Google Pixel is nearly here. The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro features Google Tensor – the first processor designed and custom-made for Pixel. Built from the ground up to give you the most secure and personal Pixel phones ever. Register your interest now and we’ll let you know when you can pre-order the new Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.”

While Vodafone added: “Register for the latest Google news for your chance to win. The Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro are coming. Sign up to receive the latest updates about Google’s incredible new phones and you could win one of 53 brilliant prizes!

“We’re giving away the following: Pixelbook Go, Nest Hub Max, Nest Cam, Nest Doorbell, Chromecast with Google TV, Nest Audio and Nest Mini.”

This year promises to be a little different for the popular Pixel range. That’s because Google has already teased a number of key details about its forthcoming flagship phones.

We’ve already seen official renders for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which boast a sleek new design with a striking rear camera pump. While we also know about the devices’ specs, with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro being the first Google smartphones to be powered by the Mountain View firm’s custom-made Tensor chip.

This is Google’s answer to Apple’s A Bionic chip series, and is expected to bring with it big AI and machine learning benefits that could impact all aspects of the new Pixel phone’s operations.

The premium look and feel of the Pixel 6 range is also the anthesis to the Pixel 5, a phone that launched last year and was dubbed a phone designed for an “economic downturn”. So, expect things to be a little pricier this time around, as Google aims to compete directly with the likes of Apple and Samsung, which both sell smartphones for four-figure sums.
