Google Pixel 6a genuine repair parts now available on iFixit – Times of India

Google launched the toned-down version of the Pixel 6 smartphone — the Pixel 6a — in July for markets including India. Before the device was launched, the tech giant partnered with iFixit in June to offer genuine repair parts for its Pixel devices including the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. Google also announced that genuine parts of Pixel 6a will arrive before the end of 2022 and now the same is available on iFixit. Several parts including the original replacements for the display, camera and battery of the Pixel 6a can be grabbed on iFixit. Apart from this, iFixit also provides some tools and the “Fix Kit” to help users with self-repairability.
Google Pixel 6a parts on iFixit: Price and availability
The self-repairing service offered by iFixit is available only in a few countries that include — the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, France and other EU countries. iFixit’s official website now lists all the parts of the Pixel 6a starting from the screen to the ultrawide rear camera.

Users can either buy just the damaged part that requires replacement or can choose to buy the part along with a Fix Kit which will include tools like — adhesive, iOpener, suction handle, angled tweezers, alcohol pad and more. This tool kit is important for users who are trying to self-repair their device for the very first time.
The most expensive Google Pixel 6a genuine part that is available on iFixit is screen front glass digitiser screen that includes the 6.1-inch OLED display which is priced at $99.99 (including the Fix Kit). Buyers can also choose to buy just the part for $92.99 and buy the display adhesive separately for $3.99.
Similarly, the GLU7G battery for Pixel 6a including the Fix Kit and adhesive will cost you $39.99 while only the part costs $32.99. Buyers can get the battery adhesive separately for $3.99.
The genuine ultrawide rear camera and the wide rear camera are both available for $36.99 and $56.99 respectively along with the kits.
Apart from the parts mentioned above, iFixit also offers step-by-step repair instructions with image references for multiple other Pixel 6a parts including — the vibrator, SIM card tray, motherboard, loudspeaker, front camera, earpiece speaker and the 5G mmWave Antenna.
