The Pixel 7a was already speculated to launch during the Google I/O developers conference that is scheduled to start on May 10th but there was no confirmation yet. It is now official that the Pixel 7a will arrive during the said time, and this time it’s coming earlier than expected. The smartphone will be available exclusively through Flipkart with the sale details yet to be announced.

The Google Pixel 7a smartphone has been spotted in multiple leaks with almost all its specifications and design details revealed already. Here’s a look at what we’ve accumulated so far.

  • Display: Starting with the display on the Pixel 7a, it could be a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. 
  • Processor: The smartphone is expected to be powered by the in-house Tensor G2 chipset, the same one that powers the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. 
  • RAM and storage: Google could launch at least two variants of the Pixel 7a with one offering 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of onboard storage along with UFS 3.1.
  • Cameras: The budget Pixel phone is rumoured to house two rear cameras with a 64MP primary sensor with OIS, and a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens. For selfies, it could house a 10.8MP front camera. 
  • Battery and charging: The smartphone could pack a4,400mAh battery with up to 72 hours of backup. It is also expected to support up to 20W wired charging and Qi wireless charging as well. 
  • Software: On the software front, the Pixel 7a will most run the latest Android 13 out-of-the-box.

Leaked renders of the Pixel 7a don’t show any changes in the design of the smartphone as it carries the same look as the Pixel 7 series. In terms of colour options, the Pixel 7a is expected to come in black, light blue, bright orange and possible grey as well.
