Gordon ‘refusing to return to Everton’ in bid to force Newcastle move

Anthony Gordon has reportedly told Everton he will not return to training as he tries to force through a move to Newcastle. The 21-year-old has not been at Finch Farm over the last three days and has no intention of going back as he tries to leave the club before the end of the month. 

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has made clear that he would like to add to his attacking options following the departure of Chris Wood and appears to have settled on Gordon has his top target. 

Talks between the two Premier League rivals have been ongoing this week with Everton said to be holding out for a fee of £55million, more than Newcastle are willing to pay.

Now, the Daily Mail reports that Gordon has informed his boyhood club that he will not be returning to training as he tries to force through a move to St James’ Park.
