Rockstar took its sweet time with the launch of GTA 6. The previous game in the series, GTA 5, was released a decade ago. For a better idea of how long that is, the game was released across three generations of consoles. When announcing the December release window for the trailer, Sam Houser, the President of Rockstar Games stated, “Thanks to the incredible support of our players worldwide, we have had the opportunity to create games we are truly passionate about — without you, none of this would be possible, and we are so grateful to all of you for sharing this journey with us.”
What we know about GTA 6 so far
GTA 6 was the subject of a massive leak that included several gameplay videos. These videos gave us a glimpse into what we can expect from the upcoming title. The game was expected to be set in Vice City, which is GTA’s version of Miami. The image posted with the announcement seems to confirm the same as it is very reminiscent of the setting.
Other features suggested by the leaks suggest that the game will feature two protagonists, a male and a female. Moreover, the story will be inspired by Bonnie and Clyde. Further, the game is expected to feature more detailed interiors with a lot more buildings that can be entered. You can learn more about what we expect from GTA 6 here.
Of course, we still do not know when Rockstar plans to launch the game. But it would be safe to assume that the game will be released sometime next year. We also still do not know what or how Rockstar plans to implement to online aspect of the game. Hopefully, all our questions will be answered on December 5th.
