GTA 6: Former Rockstar Games Employee From India Shares Some More Information About the Game

As the gaming community awaits with bated breath for the tiniest morsel of news on GTA VI, here’s some from closer home. Indian UI/UX designer Sayan Saha, an ex-employee of the GTA maker Rockstar Games has worked on the upcoming GTA 6 during his tenure at the company. Saha shared a list of assets that he worked on for the game and more, on his LinkedIn profile bio. Here are the details:

Ex-Rockstar employee shares details of working on GTA 6

Sayan Saha worked as a part of the Global 2D UI Team for the development of GTA VI, GTA Trilogy Remaster and GTA V’s next gen update. Saha writes that he has completed over 500 in-game 2D assets for “the upcoming GTA title”, which the global gaming community thinks is GTA 6. These include identity design with merchandising over 25 unique brands for the game, interior prop labels (that is modelling for the labels on in-game items that make up the space of the game), and more.

Saha has also worked on developing signs, billboards, and hoardings with neon letters found in both exteriors and interiors of the game. It is also stated that he worked on in-game web UI design, that is the mobile phone and desktop screens that one will come across within the game. “Generic clutter” is also something Saha mentions to have worked on, that refers to “generic official documents one finds in place of a service provider”, all aspects that one will get to see in the game.

This detailed LinkedIn bio only re-emphasises how intricately game developers work while building games from scratch, especially for “flagship” titles like GTA VI. Even the tiniest of aspects, that might not have any real impact on gameplay, but affects the general feel and immersivity of the game, requires the level of research and focus that Sayan Saha highlights.

Regardless, as has been suggested multiple times before, Rockstar Games is knee-deep in the development of its upcoming GTA title, and Saha just provided yet another proof of it. As for when we can expect GTA 6 to release, there’s no official announcement on it yet, but it is rumoured to be releasing sometime next year in 2024.
