Halo Infinite Dev Promises More Consistency With Upcoming Seasons
Halo Infinite’s Season 3: Echoes Within is out today, March 7, and fans have been waiting a long time for it considering Season 2 debuted more than 300 days ago in May 2022. Going forward, developer 343 Industries is promising more “consistency” as it relates to Halo Infinite’s upcoming seasons.
Sean Baron, the head of live performance at 343, said in an interview with Xbox Wire that Season 3 marks the beginning of “what seasonality is” for Halo Infinite. Fans can expect a more regular and consistent seasonality model for Seasons 4 and beyond, Baron said.
“To me, seasonality is really about consistency–we need to be consistent in everything. I feel very confident with where we’ve gone with Season 3, and I have very strong confidence that we’re going to be able to keep improving that consistency, and avoid, completely, the long seasons of the past,” Baron said.
The developer added: “We’re going to be more consistent. We’re going to continue to evolve the game in close partnership with our players. We’re focused on shipping Season 3 and then, as Chief said, we’re ‘[r]eady to get back to work.'”
Echoes Within, which is Halo Infinite’s biggest multiplayer update ever, includes three new multiplayer maps, a new weapon–the Bandit Rifle–and a new item called the Shroud Screen. There is also a new battle pass with 100 tiers of content to work through. For more, check out the Echoes Within launch trailer above.
In other news, Microsoft recently laid off 10,000 people, and the cuts included nearly 100 people at 343 Industries. 343 is now reportedly shifting to the Unreal Engine to develop the Halo series.
