Harry Kane has been helped by Liverpool accepting £40m Fabinho Saudi offer
Fabinho’s £40million move to Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq could spell good news for Harry Kane. Liverpool are now on the lookout for another new midfielder and have identified Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch as a potential replacement.
If Liverpool end up signing Gravenberch then Bayern will have an extra £25m to lump on top of their offer for Harry Kane. The Bavarian giants have had both their bids pushed back by Tottenham in recent weeks and there are concerns that they don’t have the financial firepower to strike up a deal.
It is understood that Tottenham have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Kane that they will allow him to leave this summer, but only to teams outside of the Premier League. Spurs want at least £100m for their skipper and Bayern’s last bid of £70m fell well short of that valuation.
PSG are also interested in the player and are reportedly doing everything they can to hijack the deal.
According to RMC, PSG will do ‘everything possible’ to sign Kane. The report adds that the club are expected to meet with the player’s representatives in London this week as they look to persuade him to come to Princes Park next season.
Kane is understood to be keener on a move to Bayern Munich, however, the Ligue 1 champions are more likely to meet Tottenham’s asking price than the German side. But the sale of Gravenberch could change that.
Bayern are willing to let the Dutchman go this summer and he is the cheapest option out of the four defensive midfielders Liverpool have been linked with this summer. The others are Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat and Kalvin Phillips of Manchester City.
All three players have asking prices of £45m hovering above their heads while Gravenberch would come £20m cheaper. The 21-year-old only signed for Bayern last year after impressing for Ajax in previous campaigns but has quickly fallen out of favour at the Allianz Arena and only made 24 league appearances for the club last season.
