Harry Kane on verge of joining Bayern Munich with ‘personal terms agreed’

Bayern have been pursuing Kane for much of the summer transfer window. They had seen multiple offers rejected as Tottenham held out for their asking price.

Despite Kane entering the final year of his contract, Spurs have been demanding at least £100m. Bayern’s latest bid met their requirements, with an initial fee of £86m agreed plus add-ons.

However, Kane had yet to decide whether he wants to make the move to the Bundesliga. It was reported that he was looking increasingly likely to stay in north London.

Sky Sport Germany says that talks have continued between Bayern, Tottenham and Kane throughout Thursday afternoon and evening. And it is claimed the 30-year-old is close to sealing a move to the Allianz Arena after giving his approval to the deal.

Kane wanted to sort his future out by the start of the Premier League campaign this weekend and he looked set to play for Spurs against Brentford on Sunday. But now there has been a fresh twist in the saga.

The report says that negotiations were ‘respectful’ but the outcome has seen Kane wanting to leave Spurs. Meanwhile, The Athletic says that personal terms have already been agreed between Kane and Bayern on a four-year deal.

He is now waiting for the green light from Tottenham to be able to travel to undergo a medical and complete the transfer. Kane has been at Tottenham since the age of 11 and became the club’s all-time leading goalscorer last season.

Kane is 47 goals short of matching Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record. He has 213 goals to his name in the top flight, with Shearer the only player ahead of him on 260.

Kane leaving just hours before the start of the new campaign would leave new Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou short of options up front. Richarlison will likely become the club’s first-choice No 9 if Kane does complete a move away.

The Brazilian is the club’s record signing after joining from Everton last summer for a fee of £60m. He scored just one Premier League goal during his debut campaign at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham also signed young Argentinean striker Alejo Veliz earlier this week in a £12m deal. He scored 11 goals in 23 league matches for Rosario Central this season before completing his move to England.

Veliz could be sent out on loan in order to give him regular first-team football. It remains to be seen if that would change if Kane goes.
