Harry Redknapp’s Grand National horse to ‘hit bookmakers hard’

Though William Hill isn’t the only bookmaker hoping that one of the other 38 runners come home in front, with Paddy Power’s Paul Binfield revealing: “Back On The Lash is our biggest loser. Punters seem to be agreeing with trainer Martin Keighley that former Pompey, West Ham and Spurs gaffer Harry Redknapp’s charge wasn’t suited by the soft ground at Cheltenham in the Cross Country. “The faster ground at Aintree, with the sun shining down on a packed crowd, will be much more up his alley.”

Ladbrokes’ Nicola McGeady added: “This year’s public horse is shaping up to be Back On The Lash. Whether it’s down to the fun name or the fact he is owned by Harry Redknapp, punters want to be with him.” Redknapp purchased Back On The Lash, along with Oliver Ryan, David Maughan and Karen Salters, with winning the Grand National in mind and punters from all over the country will be hoping that the football hero will reap the benefits of his investment into racing.
