Here’s how Google plans to steal Apple’s thunder – Times of India

NEW DELHI: It appears that the month of September will witness some of the most important smartphone launches of the year. The biggest tech companies — Apple, Samsung and Google are said to launch their new and important smartphones in September this year.
A new online leak has now revealed that Google may beat Apple to the party as it is said to launch its latest Pixel 6 smartphones ahead of iPhone 13 launch. As per a Weibo tipster, Google is said to launch the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro on September 13, which is a day ahead of the expected iPhone 13 launch.
Google has already teased the upcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. The tech giant has also confirmed that both the smartphones will be powered by the company’s own custom-made Tensor chipset. Rumours suggest that Google has partnered with Samsung in order to produce its in-house chipset. Google claims that the new Google Tensor chipset will provide the “most innovative AI and machine learning (ML) to our Pixel users.” The highlight of Tensor is that it can process Google’s most powerful AI and ML models directly on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, said Google.
While Google hasn’t revealed the entire hardware specifications of the phones, it said that the Pixel 6 Pro will come with three cameras that will have a telephoto lens with a 4x optical zoom. On the other hand, the Pixel 6 will skip the telephoto sensor.
Both the phones will come in three colour options. The Pixel 6 Pro comes in a light polished aluminum frame while the Pixel 6 has a matte aluminum finish.
Powered by the Android 12 operating system, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will flaunt a ‘Material You’ interface. The tech giant also claims that the new Pixel phones will click better images and will be made more secure with Titan M2.
