While the OnePlus 10T looks almost similar to the OnePlus 10 Pro, it won’t be sporting the alert-slider button along with the Hasselblad branded-camera system.

OnePlus has already confirmed that it will launch the OnePlus 10T smartphone on August 3. Recently, a report surfaced online revealing that with the launch of OnePlus 10T, the Chinese smartphone maker is ditching the slider button. For those who don’t know, since the first OnePlus smartphone, almost every OnePlus smartphone has had this alert slider which allows users to quickly change the ringer mode of the smartphone, something similar to what we get on iPhones.
Now, the company has explained why it is removing the popular alter slider from its upcoming OnePlus 10T smartphone. As reported by the Verge, OnePlus decided to remove the slide button to make space for other components. The company ditched the slide button to make space for ‘high wattage charging, a large battery capacity, and better antenna signal’. The company adds that the OnePlus 10T needs two charging pumps so that it can charge faster than the OnePlu 10 Pro. On the other hand, the company also needs space for accommodating a 15-antenna system in the smartphone so that users get improved signal quality when they hold the smartphone horizontally. The company further elaborates, the slider button appears to be small, but it takes up a lot of space on the inside.
Along with the slide button, the company is also giving up on the Hasselblad camera. The OnePlus 10T will also not include a Hasselblad camera which was seen in its predecessor — OnePlus 10 Pro. The company told The Verge that it wanted to offer a good camera smartphone at the chosen price point. OnePlus said, “wanted to offer an ultimate performance flagship smartphone at the device’s chosen price point.”
OnePlus 10T expected specifications
OnePlus 10T is said to feature a 6.7-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support. The smartphone display is expected to be protected with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass on top.
OnePlus 10T is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone is expected to house a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and 2MP macro camera. On the other hand, the front is expected to come with a 16MP selfie camera.
OnePlus 10T is likely to be backed by a 4800mAh battery with 150W fast charging support.
