Hideo Kojima Shows Support for Shah Rukh Khan’s Upcoming Film Pathaan

Back in June, popular video game designer Hideo Kojima called Indian filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR a “must-watch” for the first time. Since then, the Metal Gear series and Death Stranding creator has shown constant support to the director as well as the Telugu-language film.

Kojima even met Rajamouli at his studio in Kojima Productions, where the film director presented him with some RRR merchandise as gifts. Additionally, Kojima face-scanned Rajamouli in his studio, which could mean that there could be a character with the looks of the Indian filmmaker in any of Kojima’s upcoming projects.

Kojima has always been a supporter of international cinema, as he often posts his experiences watching films from around the world. Most recently, however, it looks like Kojima is also getting into Bollywood. The Japanese game director retweeted the trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming project, Pathaan.

The trailer he retweeted is posted by RRR actor Ram Charan, who Kojima is familiar with. Charan could likely be the reason Kojima got introduced to Khan’s coming blockbuster. However, Kojima is no stranger to Indian films, as he has also talked about the craze of Indian films in Japan that started with the release of 1985’s Rajinikanth-starrer Muthu. Kojima has also said that his favourite Indian film is Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots. So, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if Kojima was already familiar with SRK’s work in Bollywood and was looking forward to his 2023 spy action-thriller film.
