Hogwarts Legacy Datamined Code Reveals a Potion That Could Reset Talent Points

Hogwarts Legacy is a title that was highly anticipated since it was announced. Now that the game has released, it has managed to generate a massive player base as everyone is diving back into the nostalgic and mystical world of Harry Potter. If you haven’t played Hogwarts Legacy yet, then you should know that like any RPG, this title also has a progression system. Players learn new spells as they play through the story and attend classes in the game, but there is a way to make these spells stronger. This can be done with the use of Talent points, which are provided to you as and when your character levels up.

There are some prerequisites to using them, though. Firstly, you are awarded with Talent Points only after you reach a certain point in the story, though it is early in the game. Secondly, and this one has annoyed players the most, once the Talent Points have been spent on a specific skill, they cannot be transferred or removed. So, players need to be sure before deciding on the skill they wish to upgrade.

However, through a report by EIP (via PCGamer), we learned that the game files of Hogwarts Legacy had an intriguing folder in the Potions category. This was the “TalentReset” folder, which had a file named “RPG_PotionAbility_TalentReset”, and the effect it had was “RPGTriggerEffect_TalentReset”. But it was later found that this potion was categorised as “ToBeDeleted”.

It would have been great if players could find this potion in the latter half of the game, as they would be able to figure out the best build for their playstyle to take on the additional arenas and bosses in the game. At the moment, resetting Talent Points is only available on PC and that is through installing either HWL Talent Reset Tool or the Talent Reset Potion mods available on NexusMods.
