Hogwarts Legacy is out now on PS4 and Xbox One. Following a successful launch for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X earlier this year, the open-world Harry Potter prequel is finally available on last-gen consoles. The launch of Hogwarts Legacy on PS4 and Xbox One coincides with the release of a massive update for all platforms. In addition to hundreds of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, the headline new feature of the Hogwarts Legacy update is the release of a new Arachnophobia Mode.
According to the Hogwarts Legacy patch notes (below), the Arachnophobia Mode can be toggled on or off in the accessibility tab.
Perfect for squeamish players, Arachnophobia Mode turns the terrifying critters into less imposing arachnids.
It also reduces and removes spider skitters and screeches, removes small spider ground effect spawners, and makes static spider corpses in the world invisible.
Elsewhere, the resolves multiple potential crashes, while making countless performance fixes and optimisations.

Hogwarts Legacy Arachnophobia update patch notes…
• Arachnophobia Mode
– An Arachnophobia Mode has been added to the accessibility options. When toggled on, this mode:
– Changes all enemy spider appearances
– Reduces and removes spider skitters and screeches
– Removes small spider ground effect spawners
– Makes static spider corpses in the world invisible
– Collision is still active to prevent players from getting stuck when toggling this setting
– Note that spider images in the Field Guide remain unchanged

• Added support for the new Professor Ronen Cosmetic Set Twitch Drops
Additional Fixes
• Resolved Lodgok’s Helm of Urtkot quest lock, preventing players from continuing with the quest
• Did some laundry after students pointed out that robes looked dirty

• Identified and resolved multiple collections and Field Guide Page issues
• Resolved multiple issues that could cause the player to fall out of the world
