Hollywood Stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Buy Stake in F1 Team Alpine
The duo of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny has recently acquired a 24% stake in the Formula 1 team Alpine, valuing the team at €900 million. This significant investment of €200 million is part of an investor group that includes Reynolds’ Maximum Effort Investments, Otro Capital, and RedBird Capital. Creed Michael B. Jordan is also involved in the investment group.
With Alpine now valued at €900 million, the team has also announced ambitious goals. They aim to generate €8 billion in revenue by 2030 and achieve break-even in 2026.
“Maximum Effort Investments focuses on unlocking value through the power of storytelling, and we believe there is tremendous untapped potential in Alpine Racing,” said James Toney, co-founder of Maximum Effort Investments. He also expressed his gratitude to Otro Capital and RedBird Capital Partners in his statement. Toney extended his thanks to fellow co-investors Michael B. Jordan and Rob McElhenney as well.
Reynolds and McElhenny, the latter known for his work in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, previously acquired the non-league Welsh football team Wrexham in 2020. Their investment bore fruit in the 2022/23 season as the team secured promotion to the Football League for the first time in 15 years. They also achieved a significant milestone by reaching the fourth round of the FA Cup in the previous season, a remarkable feat for a club like Wrexham.
Speaking of football ownership, Michael B. Jordan is also a minority owner of Bournemouth, a club that competes in the top-tier of the Premier League in England.
