HomePod mini may come to more countries in 2022: Report – Times of India
HomePod mini is tipped for broader expansion in other countries this year. The smart speaker from Apple could debut in more European countries including Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and Russia. According to a report by Teknivecka, the Cupertino-based company has been testing the HomePod mini in Sweden.
In addition to Sweden, the HomePod mini is said to launch in at least four more countries in 2022. Apple HomePod mini smart speaker has already gained support for languages spoken in those countries with a software update in December 2021. These languages are: Dutch, Dutch (Belgium) (Referred to as Flemish by Apple), French (Belgium), French (Switzerland), German (Switzerland), Italian (Switzerland) and Russian.
Apple HomePod mini was first released in October 2020. It is currently available in the United States, Australia, Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.
The smart speaker, other than the above-mentioned countries, is also expected to launch in Thailand. As per Thai blog AppleForward, the company’s own website is showing a HomePod mini page. Although, when clicked, the page shows an error.
At the Apple Unleashed event in 2021, Apple introduced three new colour variants of HomePod mini. These were yellow, orange, and blue. While the basic features remain the same, the company also introduced some new features for the HomePod mini. For example, support for Siri was expanded for multi-user voice recognition to all regions where HomePod mini is available so everyone in the home can enjoy music tailored to their taste profile, access their own playlists, use Personal Requests, and more. Siri will also automatically adjust the speaking volume on HomePod mini based on the room environment and volume of the user.
