Horizon Forbidden West Devs Honor Lance Reddick With In-Game Tribute
Horizon Forbidden West developer Guerrilla Games has created a memorial inside the game to honor the passing of late actor Lance Reddick, who played Sylens in the franchise.
Guerilla posted a screenshot of the main protagonist Aloy as she sits in front of the memorial. The studio said, “Thank you, Lance, for everything you brought to the role of Sylens: your gravitas, energy, wisdom, and more. An incomparable talent and friend. We miss you terribly.”
The memorial shows a hologram with Lance Reddick’s name, and players can visit it on the first island that Aloy lands on in the game’s Burning Shores DLC expansion.

Reddick sadly passed away earlier this year on March 17. Sylens plays a large role within the Horizon franchise, and it’s currently unclear how his passing will impact the character, who uses Reddick’s likeness.
Other forms of media Reddick starred in have also paid tribute to him since his passing. In Destiny 2, Reddick portrayed Zavala, and players gathered around the character and kneeled in order to pay their respects. Reddick played Charon in the John Wick franchise and the latest entry, John Wick 4, honored him in the ending credits.
