Horizon Forbidden West’s DLC Is Getting Review-Bombed by Homophobes

Horizon Forbidden West’s DLC Burning Shores is getting review-bombed on Metacritic, and it’s for reasons that have nothing to do with the game overall but a very specific part of it. Sadly, it’s the bit about Aloy having a same-gender romance with Seyka.

The Burning Shores DLC has a scene that gives players the option where they can choose whether Aloy kisses Seyka, a woman. Apparently, having that choice was enough for some homophobic PlayStation fans, who got so offended that they went to Metacritic to review-bomb the game.

At the time of writing, the Metacritic user score for the DLC is 4.1 out of 10 whereas the critic’s review is at a positive 82 score.

The most astonishing part about all of this remains the fact that Guerilla Games gave players the choice to decide whether Aloy should go ahead and kiss Seyka or not.

As it turns out, homophobes cannot stand the thought that a choice such as this should even exist in the game (I’m disappointed, but not surprised).

Many of the negative reviews have alleged that the studio has “turned” Aloy into a lesbian, solely due to woke agendas, and propaganda.

PlayStation’s franchises have faced these sorts of review bombs before as well. The Last of Us series got review-bombed as well when the show featured an entire episode revolving around a gay couple.

It’s quite clear that times have changed, and it’s unsettling to know that even in 2023, there’s still a section of the population uncomfortable with the LGBTQ+ community.
