How OnePlus is planning to keep the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipsets cooler with its upcoming flagship smartphone – Times of India
OnePlus officially confirmed the global release of its upcoming flagship device– the OnePlus 10T– on August 3. The Chinese smartphone maker has also announced that the handset will be named the OnePlus Ace Pro for the local market and the OnePlus 10T for the other markets around the world. The company has also claimed that one of the highlights of the phone is its performance and is promoting the smartphone as the “new benchmark for performance phones.” According to a report by Notebookcheck, OnePlus has recently shared a teaser on Weibo that mentions the upcoming flagship device will be equipped with a “super-crystalline” material for thermal management. The new technology is also expected to help the latest Snapdragon chipsets to perform consistently during gaming sessions.
OnePlus is upgrading its cooling technology
The OnePlus 10T smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The device will not only be the flagship that focuses on performance but it is also expected to offer an advanced heat dissipation system to ensure improved performance output and a better experience.
As per the report, OnePlus has teased that the upcoming flagship smartphone will ship with “a thermal management system based on super-crystalline graphite.” Moreover, the device is likely to create a new world record for providing the highest total surface area found within a smartphone dedicated to cooling.
How OnePlus will improve the Vapour Chamber in its upcoming flagship device
The OnePlus 10T will also reportedly be equipped with the “industry’s first eight-channel all-through-vapour chamber (VC) heat dissipation system” that claims to double the thermal conductivity present in regular VCs. Apart from that, the area covered by VC in OnePlus 10T will increase to 5177-millimetre squares from 4129.8-millimetre squares present in the OnePlus 10R.
The company also claims that the smartphone will offer “the largest single VC area in the industry” which is expected to cover all heat sources of the upcoming device. Furthermore, OnePlus has upgraded the VC material to a copper material which is expected to push the limits of the process to offer better thermal conductivity.
Rumours suggest that not only will the capillary structure get a new design, but the single heat circulation channel (used in earlier VCs) will also be expanded to eight channels. Each of these channels is said to be designed separately with the special treatment provided for the heat source area and condensation area. The added number of channels will improve the heat diffusion efficiency and will ensure a uniform heat dissipation effect.
Oneplus reportedly took two years of research and development, one year of production, and half a year of optimisation to create the eight channels that will run through the VC which is expected to help the Snapdragon 8+ chipset to offer improved performance output
