How to create personalised GIF on WhatsApp for Diwali – Times of India

The festive season of Diwali provides an opportunity to people to celebrate with their family and friends. One of the best ways to connect with others is through WhatsApp. The Meta-owned instant messaging platform already has various stickers and GIF images for sharing but now it is offering a way to create personalised GIFs.
A personalised GIF can add a personal touch to a conversation. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to create a personalised GIF on WhatsApp.

  • Open WhatsApp and tap on a contact whom you want to share a personalised GIF with.
  • Tap on the attachment icon (paper clip) from the chat box and choose a video from your gallery that you want to share as a GIF.
  • You can also choose to create/record a new video to create a GIF.
  • On the top of the screen, you will see an option to trim the video by sliding bars.
  • Trim the video as per your liking and add texts, emojis, etc for a personalised touch.
  • Click on the GIF option and once done, tap on send button to share it with the contact.

It is to be noted that in order to create GIFs on WhatsApp, a video has to be six seconds or less. If you have a video that exceeds this time limit, you will have to trim it down to the supported length.
The company recently rolled out the status update reaction feature for iPhone users. The feature is already available for Android users. It allows users to ‘React’ to the status updates of their contacts in the app.
Apart from making GIFs, WhatsApp also offers various other features. The instant-messaging app is currently testing a ‘edit message’ feature that will allow users to modify a message that has already been sent. Editing a text will only be allowed up to 15 minutes after the message is sent.
