How to organise contacts into lists on iPhone, iPads – Times of India

Apple introduced the iOS 16 update to its devices in September, which offers a plethora of new features. The update included features such as customisation and widgets for the lockscreen, copying text from videos, and much more. However, it also brought about a number of other changes that are somewhat more subtle in Apple’s mobile operating system, one of which is the ability to create contact lists in the Contacts app.
Before iOS 16, Apple device users had to use a Mac or the iCloud website to create contact lists, but with iOS 16, this can be done directly on the iPhone and iPad. It can be a great way to group contacts into categories like friends, family, coworkers, clients, and so forth. Additionally, iPhone and iPad users can email every person on a specific list, which not only makes contacts easier to find but also easier to communicate with. Here’s how you can create and use the contact list feature on your iPhone and iPad:

  1. Open the Contacts app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap on the Lists option available in the top-left corner of the Contacts interface. The Lists option will be accessible in the sidebar button if you’re using an iPad.
  3. Tap on the Add List button available in the top-right corner.
  4. Then, if necessary, choose an account (iCloud is the default).
  5. Enter the name of the list.
  6. Tap on the Add Contacts option.
  7. Hit the Done button after selecting the contacts you want to add.

iPhone and iPad users can send emails or text messages to everyone on the contacts list once it has been created. They can tap on the Mail icon in the top-right corner of the list to send them an email. In addition to this, users can tap on the Lists option, long press the desired list, and choose the Message All option from the pop-up menu to send a group message to everyone.
