How to setup recovery phone number and email ID on Android in easy steps

  1. Open the Settings app on your Android device.
  2. Scroll down and tap the Google option.
  3. Now tap Sign in to your Google Account.
  4. If you have forgotten your email, tap Forgot Email option.
  5. Follow the instructions to confirm it is your account, by answering all the questions as best as you can. When you do that, Google will send you a verification code via alternate email or text to confirm that it is you.
  6. You will find a list of usernames that will match your account. Select one and continue to sign in.

Steps to recover your Google account on an iPhone in easy steps:

  1. Open the Gmail app on your iPhone.
  2. Now tap Sign in to your Google Account.
  3. If you have forgotten your email, tap Forgot Email Option.
  4. Now follow the instructions to confirm if it is your account by answering questions. Post this, Google will send you a verification code via email or text to confirm that it is you.

Note- If you change your password, you will be logged out of all the other accounts where you are signed in. You will have to sign in again.

Here are the steps to set up the recovery phone number and email id on your Android device:

  1. On your device, open your device’s settings app, click on Google, and then manage your google account.
  2. At the top, tap on the security option.
  3. Under ways, we can verify it’s you, tap the Recovery phone/email option.
  4. You will be asked to sign in.
  5. Add a recovery phone or email address.

Steps to setup recovery phone number and email id on an iPhone:

  1. On your iOS device, open the Gmail app.
  2. At the top right corner, rap your profile picture or initials and then Google account.
  3. At the top, tap the security option.
  4. Under ways, we can verify it’s you, tap the Recovery phone or recovery email option.

In case, you have forgotten your Gmail id/password and don’t have an alternate email/number registered, there is a way to recover your Gmail account. All you have to do is remain logged into your Gmail account on at least 1 device. Then follow the given steps-

  • Visit the Google Account Recovery Page.
  • Enter your Gmail ID or username and tap on Forgot Password.
  • There will be 3 options on the screen- 1) Enter your password

2) Get a verification email on the recovery email

3) try another way to sign in

  • Click on the 3rd option and you will receive a notification on the device where you are already logged in.
  • Click on Yes to verify your identity and you will be signed in after this. This method comes with some limitations so use it wisely.
