How Wimbledon weaved Rajanikanth, Dhoni and Federer in a single thread

Roger Federer, the “THALAIVA” as called by the official Twitter handle of Wimbledon, Tuesday received a standing ovation of 1 and 1/2 minutes from spectators as he entered the Royal Box at Centre Court. The Tennis legend was presented with an award by the Duchess of Cambridge Princess Kate to celebrate his contributions to the tournament ahead of the centre court match between Shelby Rogers and Elena Rybakina.

Wearing a cream-colored suit with his purple All England Club member’s pin attached to a lapel, along with a striped shirt and polka-dot tie, the retired Wimbledon King walked to his seat and stood between his wife, Mirka, and the Princess of Wales in the special section above one of the baselines in the Grand Slam tournament’s main stadium.

The “THALAIVA” status for the Tennis legend by none other than Wimbledon official twitter handled went viral with 587.1K views, 11.5K likes and 1,200 retweets since the post was twitted.

Some of the Federer fans were delighted while some others were fuming at Wimbledon’s tweet.

One fan said: Never thought somebody would get labelled as THALAIVA in Tennis….lol

Anyway….if anybody deserved the THALAIVA tag in Tennis, it had to be Roger

Another Federer fan supported the tweet: He is undoubtedly the #THALAIVA of Tennis
