IAS officer who ‘walked dog in Delhi stadium’ transferred to Ladakh | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Sanjeev Khirwar, the IAS officer in the middle of a storm for allegedly walking his dog in Delhi’s Thyagraj stadium, has been transferred to Ladakh.
A report recently emerged in the media that sportsmen using the stadium are forced to vacate it early in the evening as Khirwar comes to walk his dog in the stadium.
Khirwar is a 1994 batch IAS officer and is currently posted as principal secretary (Revenue) in Delhi.
His wife Rinku Dugga, also an IAS officer, has been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh via the same MHA order.

According to official sources, the home ministry has sought a report from the Delhi chief secretary on the news report regarding the misuse of facilities at Thyagraj Stadium by Khirwar and his wife. The chief secretary submitted a report to the MHA in the evening on the factual position, prompting the ministry to order their transfer, they said. The sources said that necessary action will be initiated based on the report.
Some sportsmen who train at the facility had said that they are forced out of the stadium in time for Khirwar to come with his dog.
In a video that emerged, Khirwar and his wife were seen walking on the athletic tracks inside Thyagraj stadium with a dog.
Soon after the controvery erupted, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal ordered all sports facilities run by the Delhi government, including the Thaygraj stadium, to be made available for use by sportspersons till 10pm.
