European Safer Gambling Week (ESGW) will soon be upon us and to mark this occasion, several organisations have planned events to discuss responsible gambling and gambling harm.

Between October 17 and 23, various webinars, seminars and a social media campaign will take place across Europe.

To help people navigate ESGW 2022, the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has released an agenda.

Kicking things off is a webinar hosted by EGBA entitled “Minimising gambling-related harm: Contributing to a better understanding of problem gambling in Europe.” This is scheduled to begin at 11 am CEST on October 17 and is expected to last for one hour.

Three other events are also set to take place on Monday, including one hosted by Sweden’s Trade Association for Online Gambling (BOS) and another by Betsson.

The BOS seminar will focus on safer gambling in Sweden, but Betsson will host a webinar centred around an account from a former compulsive gambler.

Other events planned for ESGW 2022 include an invitation-only conference on October 19, organised by Entain. This will revolve around the company’s Entain Sustain programme.

Also on Wednesday, the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) will debut a social media campaign entitled, “Betting integrity and consumer protection.”

Currently, Monday has more events planned than any other during ESGW; two events are scheduled for Tuesday, three for Wednesday and Thursday and only one for Friday.

However, EGBA did say more will be added going forward, stating: “Stay tuned for further information as more events are added to the agenda in the next days.”
