Pre-Match Analysis:
Lokesh Rahul’s commendable batting show and Ravindra Jadeja’s mindblowing all-round performances handed India 5 wickets in the 1st ODI. They were lagging behind in the 1st half and 2nd half but later made a stunning comeback to gain a hard-fought win and took a 1-0 lead in the series. Ishan Kishan has to make a way for Rohit Sharma who missed the 1st ODI due to family commitments. Suryakumar Yadav still hasn’t cracked the ODI format yet and will be given another opportunity to show his class. They are likely to go with the same bowling combination for this match.
Australia on the other hand made an exceptional start, however, lost their last 8 wickets for just 59 runs which held them for 188 runs on the board. In response to that, the bowlers delivered at the right time by quickly removing the 5 wickets however they failed to break the partnership between Lokesh Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja who played eye-catching strokes. Mitchell Marsh who opened the innings scored a fluent 81 runs at a strike rate of 124.61. It’s a must-win game for them to stay alive in the series.
