India cap for Rinku Singh? Here’s what KKR’s star batsman says

Rinku Singh has had a remarkable season this year, capturing the attention of fans with his explosive performances. Despite his impressive batting heroics, the 25-year-old Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman remains focused on his game and is not currently preoccupied with the prospect of being selected for the national team.

In his previous four IPL seasons, Rinku had accumulated 251 runs without securing a half-century. However, this year has seen a remarkable transformation in his form, as he has amassed an impressive total of 474 runs for KKR, including four fifties.

The dynamic middle-order batter first made headlines last month when he launched five consecutive sixes in the final over, propelling his team to victory against the Gujarat Titans. In Kolkata’s final game of the season against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), he once again exhibited his power-hitting prowess, falling just one run short of the target as he concluded with an unbeaten 67 off 33 balls.

Expressing his thoughts on his outstanding season, Rinku humbly stated, “It feels really good when you have this kind of season, but I’m not thinking about selection for the Indian team. I will go home, stick to my routine, and continue to practise.”

The uncapped player remains grounded and focused on his craft, demonstrating his determination to consistently improve.

“If he can bat in situations like these, he can do anything,” Rana said.
