India Gaming Show 2023 Highlights include an Appearance from the President of India, India’s First Women-Only Tournament, and More
The India Gaming Show 2023 recently concluded, and the fans got the chance to attend a variety of events at the three-day show. This was the fourth edition of the India Gaming Show and the first time as an in-person event, prior to that, we’ve had only online iterations. The show was held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi and took place between February 16 to February 18.
Through the event, the fans got to attend different panel discussions and fireside chats from industry experts. In addition, they also got a chance to attend game exhibitions, an esports tournament, meet and greet with gaming content creators, product demos and more. We also saw fans cosplaying as their favorite game and pop-culture characters. Sony India had also set up a PlayStation 5 booth which featured the latest console, along with the controllers and other PlayStation accessories.

Riot was also a part of the event and it brought along an immersive Valorant experience featuring Harbor, the new Indian Agent, a photo arena, and a NERF shooting Zone. Moreover, Hypernova Interactive also displayed their upcoming, open-world, gangster-themed title, Mayanagari. In addition, the game developer also released a new cinematic trailer for the game.
Honorable President of India Inaugurated India Gaming Show 2023
Honorable President of India, Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the fourth edition of India Gaming Show. We also received an inaugural address from the President, where she spoke about the importance of understanding the potential of advanced technology. Moreover, she spoke about the use of technology for a social change and making science and spiritualism work in tandem.
JetSynthesys Skyesports Created History at India Gaming Show 2023
JetSynthesys owned esports organizer, Skyesports partnered with LUNA to create history by hosting the first women-only tournament in India. As reported previously, Grace Esports emerged victorious at Windows 11 Skyesports Grand Slam. The organizer highlighted that the tournament garnered over 5,000,000 views.
Furthermore, JetSynthesys held panels for the following topics, “Decoding Gen Z: Understanding the Habits and Behaviours of the Next Generation, Gaming for Her: Innovative Strategies, Grassroots to global: Capturing the vast esports opportunity, Web 3.0 and gaming: The Indian context and way forward” and many more.
India Gaming Show 2023 Highlights
Day 1
Day 1 included an inaugural address from Founder and CEO of JetSynthesys and the National President of IDGS, Rajan Navani. He spoke about the promising future of gaming in India and more on Gen Z’s behavioural patterns. CEO of Krafton, Sean Hyunil Sohn spoke about similarities between Korean and Indian Gaming Industry and CEO of Gaming at JetSynthesys, Anuj Tandon spoke about where the big investments lie in gaming.
It also included speakers such as Piyush Kumer, Founder of Rooter, Dr. Srisha Sathe, Psychologist, Amit Wadhwa, CEO at Dentsu and Santosh Pacheti Director Esports at 7 Seas Esports. Later, Day 1 concluded with a panel on “The Esports Olympic Medal Quest: Path for India to win an esports Olympic medal”.
Day 2
Day 2 saw a conference held by Chief Marketing Officer at Skyesports, Gnana Shekar. Shekar spoke about “strategies to expand and build engagement with female gamers in India”. Chief Strategy Officer at JetSynthesys, Girish Menon and Anuj Mankar, CEO at Nautilus Mobile spoke on the potential of “in-game branding as a successful digital marketing strategy globally”.
The day also had a panel on “From Grassroots To Global: Capturing the vast esports opportunity in India”. Shiva Nandy, MD at Skyesports, Peeyush Kumar, Founder at Crowd Control Esports, Rohit Jagasia, CEO at Revenant Esports, and more were present as speakers. Day 2 concluded with two more panels, first on “Unleashing the Potential of India’s Gaming Talent Market” and the second being “A Glimpse into the future of gaming tech and gadgets”
Day 3
Day 3 saw Co-Founder and CEO, Metaphy, Rakesh S predicted the tremendous growth of the metaverse. Jet3 Gaming’s James Cho spoke on strategically captializing on Web 3.0’s popularity and gaming in India. However, we at IGN India are not too sure about the importance and growth of Web 3.0 and metaverse in gaming beyond a gimmick. Lastly, Jetapult’s Sharan Tulsiani adressed the “usage of gaming and gamification to impact digital lives with new-age firms”.
