Indian States Rush To Woo Elon Musk To Set Up Tesla Manufacturing Units
Everyone wants a piece of Elon Musk and his popular automotive company Tesla, including Indian politicians.
Recently on Twitter, many of India’s major lawmakers responded to the billionaire’s qualms about being unable to set up Tesla in the country because of government regulations by providing him with opportunities to develop it in their state.
Even though Tesla is one of the most famous automotive brands in the world, Musk and co. has yet to make an impact in a country with over a billion citizens.
As the world comes to grip with the shift to electric vehicles, Tesla is poised to be at the top of the chain, and it’s no secret why Indian politicians want to tap into that market by inviting Musk to develop plans for his company in their respective states.
The conversation between Elon Musk and the lawmakers began with the former responding to a fan’s query about a possible Tesla launch in India. Musk replied to the tweet by stating that his company has had a hard time with the challenges posed by the government of India to launch successfully.

In exchange, the lawmakers stated their state’s prowess in terms of what they can bring to the table in order for Musk’s plans to sell Tesla vehicles in India.
With over a billion people, India is one of the lucrative automotive markets in the world right now. As the country continues to progress, the need for reliable automobiles has considerably risen as well, and Tesla can definitely create a buzz by launching on the sub-continent.
However, Musk and his various companies have had several issues with the country’s stringent regulations as seen by the failed launch attempts of his SpaceX operated satellite internet service Starlink.
It remains to be seen if Elon Musk will take up any of the offers from the lawmakers who responded to his tweet. However, for now, it seems like India might have to wait a bit longer to see Tesla vehicles roaming around in the streets.
